Wicked Plants and Creeping Critters

Sept. 16, Saturday, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The spooky season is around the corner, so get ready with a carnivorous plant sale and creeping critters! Purchase plants that use appealing scents, leaves, and sticky fluids to trap insects from Kenny Coogan, author of the new book “Florida’s Carnivorous Plants.” Experience a hands-on encounter with reptiles that are also carnivores, thanks to our partners at Great Explorations. Learn about Florida’s threatened flora and fauna and the “wicked” species that endanger them. Program is free with Sunken Gardens or Great Explorations admission. Pre-registration is not required. Held in our lobby.

Yoga, Meditation, & Sound Healing

October 25, Wednesday, 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Join Vandana Dillon & Christina Maffia for the Full Moon in the beautiful Garden Room at Sunken Gardens. This class will begin with Intention Setting. We will then move into a gentle yoga practice, followed by meditation, and the crystal singing bowls. Sound healing is a form of healing that uses different vibrations to heal the body, mind and spirit. It works on two principles: That different emotions vibrate at different levels, and that blocked, or unexpressed emotions, are the main source of disease. Please bring a mat, blanket, and/or pillow. Cost is $46/person. *Please Note this event is Non-refundable*
